Two pedestrians in Philadelphia were struck by vehicles in a single night, according to officials. The first incident occurred when a dark-colored Volkswagen hatchback struck a woman who was crossing at the 2800 block of North Broad Street at approximately 1:15 a.m. The driver initially stopped and waited until medics arrived before leaving. The woman had to be taken to a nearby hospital for care and was in critical condition at least update.
Just an hour later, another person was struck, this time by a blue Nissan Altima. The man was waiting for the bus at the 6900 block of Torresdale Avenue in Northeast Philly. The driver attempted to pass another vehicle that was stopped at a red light. The driver of that vehicle, a black Honda Accord, hit a light pole in the accident as they tried to move to avoid the collision. The Altima sustained significant damage and came to a stop at a fence near Disston Street. There was no update on the condition of that pedestrian.
