Vehicle Fleeing Police Crashes Into Multiple Parked Cars

Police reported a complex accident scene in the Tacony section of Philadelphia on Wednesday morning. According to reports, a vehicle that was involved in a carjacking slammed into another vehicle, and as they did and continued to flee, a trail of damage and debris was left behind.

The crash took place at the intersection of Princeton Avenue and Tulip Street. That is where the video captured the vehicle colliding with a Mercedes SUV, which was driven by a local school official. Witnesses reported the driver blew through a light, never touching the brakes, hit several other vehicles, and eventually struck a pole. The driver tried to flee on foot but was apprehended.

Police reported the incident began earlier in the day when officers found the car that was involved in a reported carjacking on Edmund Street. They tried to stop the driver at that time, but the driver fled. As they sped away, they struck a utility pole, backed up into a police car, and then went the wrong way down Tulip Street before striking the Mercedes SUV. Seeking Fair Compensation After Difficult Injuries

In a case like this, it is easy to see that the suspect is responsible for the injuries caused to the Mercedes driver and the damage to the vehicles. Could the police be responsible for the chase? In some situations that may apply, though it is unclear if it does here.
