USPS Vehicle Crashes

Police responded to reports of a shooting in the Logan section of Philadelphia at about 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday. When they arrived at the location, they found that a USPS postal worker was driving close to 900 Courtland when the driver saw a person who seemed to have a gunshot wound to their stomach. The victim was running towards the postal worker.

The wounded person had a gun with him and jumped into the postal workers’ vehicle, seeking to be taken to the hospital. After jumping into the vehicle, the victim then pressed the gas pedal, which caused the worker to lose control of the vehicle. It then crashed into the median.

The wounded person then got out of the postal worker’s vehicle and flagged down another car. That car took the wounded person to Albert Einstein Medical Center. The person is in critical condition. The postal worker also had to be taken to the hospital with injuries from the crash.

The complex case does not have any insight yet on what caused the incident to occur. No one was initially arrested, and there was no known motive.
