Two Philly Officers Injured in Crash on Lehigh Avenue

An investigation is underway after a multi-vehicle accident took place in Philadelphia. The accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. along 29th Street and Lehigh Avenue. That is when two Philadelphia police officers were involved in a crash.

The incident took place in the Strawberry Mansion area of the city. According to initial reports, a black Chevy vehicle struck the police officer’s patrol car at the intersection. The officers and the driver of the Chevy vehicle were treated at the scene with minor injuries. They did not need advanced care.

The investigation into the accident was ongoing. It is not clear what caused the driver to strike the police officers.

The Challenges of Intersections at Night

This case may have involved police officers, but the reality is that numerous accidents occur along these roadways at night. The most common cause of them is a lack of visibility. Not seeing the other car can lead to an impact.

Other causes include fatigue or intoxication behind the wheel. If there was miscommunication about who had the right of way, that could also contribute to the accident. In a complicated matter like this, including the involvement of police officers, victims should seek a free consultation with a lawyer to learn more about their options.
