A three-vehicle accident occurred in Towamencin Township at around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Valley Forge and Morris roads. A silver Mitsubishi Galant struck a silver Kia Sportage. Police were nearby and responded immediately. They found both vehicles facing northbound on the roadway, blocking Valley Forge Road. After being hit by the Explorer, another vehicle, a silver Ford Explorer, was in the westbound lane of Morris Road. The Explorer spun out and struck the Kia.
Police learned that the driver of the Mitsubishi was intoxicated at the time of the accident. That driver was charged with his fourth DUI due to this incident. Police smelled the odor of alcohol, and the driver slurred his words when police asked what had occurred.
What Happens When a Drunk Driver Strikes You
When an intoxicated driver causes an accident, they – and their liability insurance – are often responsible for the losses they cause to others. If that driver does not have insurance or does not have enough to cover the losses they created, you may file a claim against your uninsured motorist coverage, if you previously purchased it.
