Details of the Fatal Middle Township Accident

Emergency personnel were dispatched at 4:45 a.m. on Monday to the area of Court House-South Dennis Road (County Route 657) in Cape May Court House. The accident occurred when a vehicle traveling southbound attempted to pass a vehicle.

The passing vehicle struck a Honda Accord traveling northbound. Two adults were taken to local hospitals for injuries suffered in the crash. A 13-year-old boy in the Accord was taken to Cooper Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. The adults were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division.

The road remained closed for close to five hours as police conducted an investigation and the vehicles were cleared away. Aside from the Middle Township Police Department, the Goshen and Cape May Court House Fire Departments, New Jersey Department of Transportation, and AtlantiCare Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene.
