News reports indicate that crews were called to Springfield Township just after 8 a.m. to respond to a report of an ambulance on fire. The incident took place at Keystone Quality Transport, located near Urban Air on E. Woodland Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find the engine compartment on fire and the vehicle just a few feet away from an auto repair garage.
Because of the location of the vehicle so close to the building, fire crews requested additional aid from surrounding teams. The crews put out the fire and found that it had not spread to the building. There were no injuries reported in the accident.
Accident and Ambulance
In situations like this, the outcome could have been much different. If that ambulance caught fire due to lack of maintenance and upkeep and was in use at the time, a passenger and workers could have been hurt. That could have contributed to the loss of life and serious injuries. If it was found that the owner failed to maintain the vehicle and that contributed to the losses, that party could be held liable for the losses incurred.
