Why Pedestrian Accidents Happen

It is not clear what specifically caused this particular accident to happen. However, the victim was in the crosswalk, according to initial data. That means that the pedestrian seems to have the right of way.

Numerous factors contribute to pedestrian accidents. One of the most common is distracted driving. Drivers using their cell phones or interacting with navigational devices take their eyes off the road for a split second, and if a pedestrian steps out with the right of way in that moment, the risk of serious injury is very high.

Other causes of pedestrian accidents include poor visibility, speeding drivers, fatigued drivers, and intoxication. Vehicle malfunctions, such as steering or transmission issues, may contribute as well. A full investigation may reveal that numerous factors contributed to the incident.
