Possible Drunk Driver Strikes Multiple Vehicles in South Philly

Police were called to an area along 15th Street in South Philadelphia after neighbors reported that their vehicles were damaged. They suspect a drunk driver struck their vehicles during a late-night drive on Sunday evening.

Police received the first reports of a crash at the intersection of 15th Street and Dickinson after 11 p.m. The incident spanned several blocks from there. The crashes, one after the other, caused numerous people to step outside. That is when more than one witness reported that a black vehicle was moving down the street, striking parked vehicles.

The damage to several vehicles was substantial, with some vehicles no longer able to be driven. Though there is no clarity from the police on the authenticity of this, some neighbors believe the driver attended a game earlier in the evening since the driver was wearing a Sixers jersey. The person who struck the vehicles was said to have gotten out of the vehicle and tried to pay a neighbor on the phone with the police not to report the incident. The driver then fled the scene with an injured passenger who was partially hanging out of the car.

The incident spanned six or seven blocks down the roadway. The driver of the black Nissan is said to have struck 10 to 15 vehicles.
