A porch was destroyed after a vehicle crashed into a South Whitehall Township home this past weekend in Lehigh County. The crash occurred on Saturday around 8:24 PM in the 3600 block of Broadway, according to police. The force of the impact caused the porch to come completely detached from the house.
The vehicle then went down an embankment next to the house. There was no immediate word on injuries to people inside the home or the vehicle. A Lehigh County car accident lawyer can assist you with a claim following a crash.
What to Do After a Vehicle Strikes Your Home
If a vehicle strikes your home, call 911 immediately. If you are uninjured, evacuate the house if it is safe to do so. If there is too much damage or you are injured, remain where you are and provide emergency dispatchers with your exact location so police and fire personnel can rescue you.
Even if you think you are uninjured, you should still be examined by EMS personnel on the scene. Accept transport to the hospital for further evaluation. Some injuries do not appear until later.
Once you have had time to recover from the immediate impact of the crash and your injuries, be sure to speak with an experienced attorney about what happened. You can hold the driver of the vehicle responsible for the damage to your home and your injuries.
