Philly Police Chase Ends in Crash

Just in time for rush hour, a serious accident took place on I-95 on a recent Thursday evening. Police reported that the accident happened along the north side of the freeway in Philadelphia, close to the Commodore Barry Bridge. The incident caused significant delays and resulted in traffic congestion for some time.

Later, police revealed the incident began when a vehicle traveling in Delaware led police on a chase. Police later spotted the vehicle, which had been involved in other incidents earlier in the week. The driver of the car crashed into two Wilmington police cars before the Delaware State Troopers chased it.

The crash ended when the vehicle struck the median near the bridge. Both the driver and the passenger were taken into custody, but no report on any injuries was provided. The accident created a three-mile backup out of Center City.

Who Is Responsible in a Police Chase

If you are involved in a car accident with a car that is being chased by police, you may be unsure what your legal rights are to seek compensation. The driver who struck you is ultimately responsible for keeping their vehicle under control, and when they fail to do so, for any reason, they can be held accountable. In a high-speed chase, though, police departments could hold some fault.

Your best bet is to hire an attorney to help you. At Kwartler Manus, our Philadelphia car accident lawyers provide victims with support in seeking full compensation for their losses.
