Why Pedestrians Die on Train Tracks

Unfortunately, the most common reasons for pedestrians to lose their lives in a train accident are due to trespassing. It is never safe to walk along the train tracks, but some people do so because they feel it is a shortcut, or they find it fun to do so. However, trains like the SEPTA vehicles can travel very quickly and may move at a much quieter rate than many realize. Trains have virtually no ability to stop quickly when someone is on the train tracks.
