Details of the Chase and Subsequent Crash in Towamencin Township
The pursuit began around 7 a.m. on June 6th when police attempted to stop a stolen SUV from Upper Merion Township. A trooper followed the vehicle along the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and waited for backup after it exited near Townamencin Township.
Once a traffic stop attempt was made, the driver decided to flee, traveling at speeds of 80 MPH along Kriebel Road before crashing in a residential driveway. The vehicle suffered extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene. All five occupants of the car, an 18-year-old and four juveniles, fled into the woods. They were all apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
It is unknown if the crash damaged the residential property along Kriebel Road.
