A two-vehicle crash took place along I-95 northbound at about 2:30 a.m. at mile marker 28.4 in Philadelphia. When police arrived at the scene, they found a white Acura TL in the right lane with heavy damage to the rear end as well as bullet holes throughout the vehicle. Behind it, they found a red Ford Mustang with significant front-end damage and bullet holes through the front windshield.
The investigation found the driver of the Mustang suffered a gunshot wound to the head and later died of his injuries. The passenger of the Mustang was taken to the hospital with wounds. Later, police learned the driver of the Acura TL was picked up at the scene of the crash and taken to the hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. This driver was said to have been an innocent bystander who was struck by errant gunfire. He later died of his injuries.
