A tragic ending occurred in Camden County, New Jersey, recently when a man was struck by a freight train. The incident took place in the evening on a Wednesday night near the intersection of South 6th Street and Carl Miller Boulevard. Conrail operated the train.

Train Accidents Are Not Uncommon

Accidents involving passenger and rail trains are not uncommon. In some situations, they occur when a driver or pedestrian believes they can beat the train and jump over the tracks. Other times, the driver of a vehicle may not see the train coming, and without any warning lights or a blockage, the driver could drive right in front of the train.

There are no details about what took place here. The person who died is not believed to have been in a vehicle at the time of the accident, but that information has not yet been released. A full investigation here could be critical to help police and family members get to the bottom of what happened.
