Driver Ejected in Route 55 Crash Last Night

The driver of an SUV struck several trees and then overturned along southbound Route 55 in Deptford on a Tuesday evening. The New Jersey driver is said to have lost control of the vehicle. Police did not immediately state what caused that to happen.

The driver was said to have run off the highway about a mile north of Exit 56. He was taken to the hospital with injuries after being thrown from the vehicle. The crash, which happened just after 11 p.m. at milepost 57.1, is still under investigation. Call a Gloucester County car accident lawyer today.

Why Drivers Lose Control of Vehicles

The loss of control over a vehicle happens when the driver fails to react or overreacts to changing situations on the roadway. This can happen for various reasons, such as overcorrecting if an animal enters the roadway. If the driver was fatigued, they may have very briefly failed to pay attention, causing them to suddenly wake up and react, leading the vehicle to rapidly change direction. Mechanical failures, intoxication, and numerous other factors could also play a role in these accidents.

What to Do After an Accident

If you are hurt in an accident caused by another party, including vehicle manufacturers or another driver, seek legal help as soon as you get medical care. At Kwartler Manus, we encourage you to speak to an attorney before you settle your claim with the insurance company. Failure to do so can often lead to costly losses and claims that do not represent your true level of loss and fault.
