Another officer tried to help, and somehow the vehicle, before the driver hit the gas. That led to the vehicle striking both police officers, though they only suffered minor injuries.

The driver fled the scene. Police found the vehicle along the 7400 block of Andrews Avenue, where the police officer’s body camera, which had fallen into the car, was recovered. Eventually, a standoff occurred with a nearby resident, and SWAT teams were called to take the driver into custody.
