At around 7 a.m. on a recent morning, police were called to West Chester Pike in Newtown Square for a report of a two-vehicle accident. The incident took place just east of Bryn Mawr Avenue.

Limited information was initially provided about the incident. However, the police chief reported that the driver of one of the vehicles had died at the scene. The other driver was transported to Paoli Hospital Trauma Center, but there was no update on that driver’s condition.

What to Do When a Loved One Dies in a Car Accident

In a case like this, where family members are left to wonder what happened, it is essential to hire a local and skilled legal team to help you learn the full story. The close family members have the right to seek legal advice and guidance. Doing so allows your lawyer to investigate all details of what occurred and to build a better understanding of fault.

If the other person is at fault, the victim’s family can then seek compensation for the loss. That includes all of the medical costs, if any, losses related to the funeral and burial, as well as pain and suffering. Dependents may also seek compensation for the individual’s loss of contributions going forward. Loss of companionship is also a factor.
