2 Injured, 1 Dead in Port Richmond Car Accident

A person lost their life, and two others suffered serious injuries at a car crash in the Port Richmond area of Philadelphia, according to initial police reports.

Investigators are gathering information, but initial information indicates that the accident took place at around 2 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection near Aramingo Avenue and Tioga Street. A pickup truck traveling at an unsafe speed crossed into oncoming traffic. That is when it struck the sedan, creating a head-on collision. The impact was so significant that it led to the sedan being forced across the grass median before it stopped next to a local Aldi grocery store.

The accident resulted in the driver of the sedan being rushed to the hospital, though they later died from injuries. The passenger in the sedan also required hospitalization but was stable, and the driver of the pickup truck was also hospitalized in stable condition.

Investigators reported that the pickup was traveling at a speed that was unsafe because the roads were ice-covered. That is what is believed to have caused the driver to lose control.

Fighting for Your Rights

Victims in an accident like this suffer for years due to the carelessness of another person. Even though the roads were icy, it is likely that the pickup driver remains responsible. Simply, they were driving in an unsafe manner.
