The investigation into the accident was ongoing. It is not clear what caused the driver to strike the police officers.
The Challenges of Intersections at Night
This case may have involved police officers, but the reality is that numerous accidents occur along these roadways at night. The most common cause of them is a lack of visibility. Not seeing the other car can lead to an impact.
Other causes include fatigue or intoxication behind the wheel. If there was miscommunication about who had the right of way, that could also contribute to the accident. In a complicated matter like this, including the involvement of police officers, victims should seek a free consultation with a lawyer to learn more about their options.
