Police in Nether Providence Township in Delaware County, PA, found themselves searching for a suspect who escaped police. According to reports, the suspect was arrested overnight when police saw him looking into a vehicle. The person provided false identification and had a small amount of drugs. Police then discovered the person had been entering several vehicles. They charged the person with loitering, prowling, and drug violations.
However, at some point, the person escaped policy custody during transfer by the Pennsylvania State Constables to George Hill Correctional Facility. The suspect slipped their hands out of the handcuffs and then stole a silver sedan. Police reported the suspect was heading northbound on Route 1. Ultimately, the driver was speeding and crashed the vehicle into a red truck at Baltimore Pike and Turner Road near Smedley Park. The driver of the truck suffered neck and shoulder pain.
A lockdown in the area was issued, and police searched the area. The truck was hit so hard that it pushed the rear end and axle forward on the truck.
