How Did a Truck Crash Off the Bridge in Sadsbury Township?
Emergency personnel were dispatched around 1:10 p.m. Thursday for the report of a truck that crashed off the Route 30 Bypass bridge. The tractor-trailer was hanging off the bridge over Old Mill Road. The scene from Chopper 6 from 6ABC also showed a heavily damaged green tractor on the side of the highway.
According to police, the truck crashed into the tractor, which was cutting grass along the side of the highway. The truck then barreled over the side of the bridge before coming to a stop. Fuel leaked from the truck into Buck Run Creek, which required hazmat teams to respond to contain the leak.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed until 5 p.m. so emergency personnel could clear the scene. The two people injured suffered serious injuries, but police did not comment on their condition as of this writing.
