Car Fire in Philadelphia

A devastating accident took place in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia on a recent Saturday evening. Police report that calls came in for help at just after 9 p.m., requesting support at the 100 block of Marlborough Street. When police arrived, they found a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames.

Through an investigation, police learned the driver, who was an Uber driver at the time of the incident, had suffered a medical emergency. That caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle, a Hyundai, then slammed into several parked cars. The Hyundai caught fire after striking the other cars, setting a total of four cars on fire.

There were four passengers in the Uber at the time. They were all able to escape the car without any injury. They also tried to remove the driver from the car but were unable to do so due to the flames. The passengers in the vehicle were from Canada.

Seeking Answers as a Family Member

For the individual who passed away in this accident, family members are left to wonder what occurred. Police determined a medical incident occurred, perhaps because the passengers who escaped the accident were able to communicate that. In other cases, family members never know why the accident happened.
