Pedestrian Hit By Car in Mount Laurel

A pedestrian was struck by a car along Ark Road in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, on a recent morning. According to the police reports, the pedestrian suffered injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

Information about the incident was initially limited. Medical responders were called to the location at 8:48 a.m. The driver remained at the scene of the accident. Police were investigating where the incident took place. It is unclear how serious the pedestrian injuries were.

Who Is Responsible for a Pedestrian Accident?

Pedestrian accidents occur for various reasons, and police will need to investigate what occurred using as much evidence as possible. That might include witness statements, dash camera footage, and accident reconstruction tools. To determine fault, police must evaluate the data to determine who had the right of way. In most cases, pedestrians have the right of way. If a driver can stop, they must.

There are some situations where the pedestrian may be at fault. That includes if the person walks out into traffic without warning, especially outside of the crosswalk. Proving that a driver did not have enough warning is tough to do. Yet, working with an attorney becomes necessary to protect your rights.
