Fatal Turnpike Crash in Burlington County

New Jersey State Police (NJSP) reported a single fatality as a result of a crash on a stretch of the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County Wednesday morning.

State police were dispatched to mile marker 42.1 in Westampton Township on the New Jersey Turnpike shortly after 7 AM Wednesday.

According to the NJSP, the driver of a Chevrolet lost control of their vehicle, ran off the right side of the road into an embankment and overturned. During the crash, a passenger in the vehicle was ejected and died as a result of her injuries. The woman is from Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Two other passengers along with the driver suffered undisclosed injuries and were transported to area hospitals. The accident is under investigation by the NJSP and no further details are available at this time.
