Lansdale 2 Car Accident Leaves 1 Injured

A Lansdale accident involving two vehicles took place on a recent Friday morning, resulting in at least one injury and another person being taken into custody. The accident took place in the West Ward neighborhood.

Data from the incident shows that a Mazda driver was taken into custody after the crash on South Canon and Delaware avenues in the Landsdale Borough. A school-aged child was also taken to an area hospital for treatment.

According to police reports, the driver of a Subaru was on Cannon Avenue. Police believe the driver of the Mazda ran a stop sign and, as such, crashed into the front end of the Subaru. The force caused one vehicle to come to rest in a yard. The second vehicle was blocking the intersection.  It is not clear why the police arrested the driver at the time of the accident. The investigation into this case is still ongoing.

Why a Driver Is Charged with Crimes

Police will charge a driver when there is evidence of a crime. That includes running the stop sign, as well as situations where there is suspected impairment or aggravating factors. It is not clear why the police arrested this driver right away, but because serious injuries occurred, the driver could face serious criminal charges.
