Two people were recently charged with driving while intoxicated in Gloucester County after police responded to a late-night crash. Data from the Washington Township Police Department indicates that the incident took place at the intersection of Route 42 and Berlin-Cross Keys Road at around 11:45 a.m.
After responding to the accident scene, police found the driver of one vehicle intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of .11%, well above the legal limit of .08 percent. The passenger in the vehicle with that driver was also intoxicated, which is why police drove her home and told her to have someone else pick up the arrested driver from the police station. She failed to do so, and instead, within about 30 minutes, she arrived at the police station driving her own vehicle to pick up the driver. Both vehicles were impounded, and both parties were charged with DWI.
