What Can Cause a Driver to Lose Control Over the Vehicle?
Police in accidents like this investigate a wide range of potential causes. A driver may lose control over their vehicle due to fatigue or impairment. In some situations, the driver may be distracted by looking at a text message or eating while behind the wheel. Other times, investigations look at mechanical failure, such as steering, braking, or transmission failures. Something on the road, such as debris or an animal, could also contribute to these accidents. Victims may also suffer a medical emergency, such as a cardiovascular event or a stroke. Until a full investigation is complete, it may not be possible to know what caused the incident.
