A collision on the Pennsylvania Turnpike led to the hospitalization of a motorcycle rider recently. Police report that a motorcycle operator was riding a 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle along the roadway at about 8:20 a.m. At that time, a Honda Civic struck the bike rider.
Police say the accident occurred when the driver of the Civic attempted to change lanes. In doing so, the driver did not see the motorcyclist or plan for it properly, leading to the car striking the rear of the motorcycle. The impact caused the rider to be thrown from the bike. The rider then slid across the pavement about 30 to 40 feet, according to state police reports.
Police report that the rider was taken to Paoli Hospital with injuries, although it is unclear how serious those injuries were. The driver of the car was taken to Suburban Hospital with injuries. Officers stated that the Civic’s driver would be cited for the accident.
