A motorcycle rider lost their life in Worcester Township during an early morning accident. The details of the accident are limited. According to initial reports, a passerby saw the wreck and stopped to help just before dawn.
Pennsylvania State Police report that a person stopped after seeing the crash at around 4:30 a.m. They found a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and the rider near the intersection of Bethel Drive, Morris Road, and West Point Pike. The motorcycle rider was deceased at the time.
Determining What Happens in Complex Cases
Police used crash reconstruction to determine that the motorcycle rider was traveling southbound on West Point Pike before they lost control of the bike for an unknown reason. That caused the rider to go off the road, where the motorcycle struck a grouping of trees on Bethel Drive. The motorcycle rider did not have a helmet on at the time of the accident. There were no witnesses to the actual collision.
Police continue to investigate. The use of reconstruction software like this can be helpful in many cases. It can show, for example, if another vehicle was involved and fled the scene or how the motorcycle was traveling before the incident occurred.
