Tractor-Trailer Splits Open in Bucks County

A tractor-trailer was involved in a violent accident in Bucks County. News reports indicated that the force was so great that the tractor-trailer split open and spilled diesel fuel across the area. The accident took place near the Penn Ridge Airport.

Images from the news helicopter showed a tractor-trailer right side up, with the tractor split open and material spilling out along the side of a hill. The area was closed for quite some time as crews had to work to unload all of the material from the side of the vehicle, at the end of the hill, while also dealing with diesel fuel and hazmat cleaning. It closed down the road for several hours while teams worked.

Truck Accidents Causes

It is not clear what caused this accident, as the semi truck was the only vehicle involved and did not appear to have struck anything. However, police will investigate by reviewing all available data to determine the cause. That includes dash camera footage, driver logs, cargo loading procedures, and the vehicle’s overall maintenance and upkeep. Factors such as the driver’s experience and medical well-being will also play a role.
