Details About the NJ Turnpike Truck Accident

According to the New Jersey State Police, a tractor trailer was traveling south on the New Jersey Turnpike through Mount Laurel when it overturned. The southbound right lane of the Turnpike was closed for an extended period early Tuesday morning approaching rush hour while police conducted an investigation and crews clear the debris.

The truck driver was transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries. Police did not say how the crash occurred or if the driver would be charged once released from the hospital. Officers did say that the truck struck a guardrail when it overturned. It did not appear that any additional vehicles were involved in the crash.

The exact location of the crash was milepost 37 and emergency personnel were dispatched around 3:35 AM for the report of the wreck. The right lane was closed for a handful of hours leading into rush hour before the roadway was finally reopened completely.
