Police are looking for a driver who purposefully accelerated their car towards a group of people in a parking lot on New Year’s Day. The incident took place in Lower Southampton Township, in the parking lot of the Hive Lounge. Talk to a car accident lawyer from Kwartler Manus today.
The driver struck three pedestrians and two parked cars before fleeing and circling the building. It came back around and tried to hit the other pedestrians who had gotten away during the first attempt. The incident took place at around 2 am on Jan. 1st, when a group of people were leaving a New Year’s Eve celebration.
Police have identified the driver who they say is seen on surveillance footage driving towards five pedestrians. Police are not sure what led to the act of violence, but are investigating. They believe there was a language barrier between the group and the driver, which may have played a role in the dispute. One of the victims suffered serious facial and head trauma, while two others were able to walk away.
Police later found the white Volkswagen Jetta at a shopping center near the scene with significant damage, including a shattered windshield. At the time of this report, they had identified the driver and were looking for that person with the help of federal authorities.
