Fatal Crash Reported in Monroe Township Last Week

Police were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident in the area of North Tuckahoe Road and Riley Street. The call came in just prior to 2 p.m. on a Friday afternoon.

The Monroe Township Police Department arrived at the scene and learned that a 2016 Cadillac SRX had crashed into a tree. Upon investigation, police determined the driver was traveling southbound on Tuckahoe Road when, for unknown reasons, crossed over the center lane, drove towards oncoming traffic, and then hit a curb before striking and coming to a stop at a tree.

The driver of the accident did not survive the incident. Police called on the public to come forward if they witnessed the accident. They had not released any other information related to the cause of the accident. Call Kwartler Manus to speak with a Gloucester County car accident attorney.

Causes of Single-Vehicle Accidents

In an accident like this, an investigation may reveal critical details about what occurred. Single-vehicle crashes happen for many reasons, and only some of them are the victim’s fault. For example, another vehicle may have swerved towards the driver, causing them to swerve out of the way. Poor road conditions could be a contributing factor to such an accident. Faulty brakes or tires, just installed or maintained, could be behind the accident.
