Multiple homes in the area of Prospect Park and Norwood, Pennsylvania, lost power on a Thursday morning recently after a car crash. Police reported that the crash happened at the 500 block of Chester Pike in Delaware County. Several businesses and homes lost power for some time while teams worked to restore it.
There was limited information about the accident itself. What was shared was that the collision closed Chester Pike between Amosland Road and Route 420 as investigators worked the scene. News footage showed photos of a commercial truck with severe front-end damage that looked like it struck a pole. That led to power lines coming down.
Initially, around 300 customers were impacted by the power outage, but PECO responded quickly to the downed power lines in the area at around 4:30 a.m. to get power restored within an hour to most homes.
Commercial Truck Liability
This accident seemed to involve a company truck. If that person was operating the vehicle while engaged in the normal course of business, the company could be liable for the injuries and losses caused by the accident, if there were any. If the person was just driving to work, then their personal liability insurance becomes critical in covering any losses.
