Toddler Critically Injured in Evesham Crash

A three-car accident took place on Route 70 and Locust Avenue in Evesham, New Jersey, on a Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred when a tractor-trailer truck failed to stop at a red light and collided with two other vehicles. The accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. The New Jersey State Police Commercial Truck Unit, along with the state’s Department of Transportation, was working to determine what caused the truck driver to fail to stop.

Reports indicated that a one-year-old child suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident and was, at last report, in critical condition. Another person suffered minor injuries. Police reported all drivers were communicating and cooperating with police. Contact a Burlington County truck accident attorney about your case today.

Potential Causes for a Tractor-Trailer Accident

A tractor-trailer that does not stop at a red light indicates the truck driver is likely at fault, but understanding what caused the incident is essential. Investigators will attempt to piece together what happened by examining all relevant factors.

If the brakes failed, the truck manufacturer, repair technician, or another party could be responsible. The trucking company could be responsible if the vehicle did not receive the necessary maintenance. If the driver was tired, they may have been at fault, especially if they failed to maintain the necessary time off and breaks.
