Police Officer Injured When His Car Was Struck in Philadelphia

A police officer was hospitalized after being involved in an accident. According to police, a Chrysler 300 crashed into a marked cruiser in the Logan section of Philadelphia. It occurred at approximately 4:54 a.m. on a Thursday morning at the 4000 block of North Broad Street.

The police officer was in a marked patrol car at the time. The red Chrysler 300 struck the driver, though it is unclear why that happened. Other police officers rushed to help the officer, who was then taken to Temple University Hospital for care. The Crash Investigation Division was investigating the cause of the accident, but had not released any information. No information about the other driver was provided.

Common Causes of Serious Accidents

An accident in the middle of the night like this could be the result of a tired driver, perhaps someone who fell asleep behind the wheel. The driver may have been intoxicated, distracted because they were texting, or simply daydreaming. Poor lighting, a medical condition, and even an animal entering the roadway could have caused the accident.

Using witness statements, dashcam footage, and any other available evidence, police will piece together what happened. Victims in accidents like this need to take legal action to support themselves and their outcome. That may include turning to a local car accident lawyer who can help you investigate what happened. At Kwartler Manus, our Philadelphia car accident lawyer works with victims facing challenging legal matters to determine the true cause of the accident, ensuring that victims receive justice.
