What Happened on Frankford Avenue Friday Night?

Philadelphia police and firefighters were dispatched around 11:40 p.m. Friday for the report of an accident involving an e-scooter. The accident occurred on the 3100 block of Frankford Avenue.

According to the initial police investigation, a Jeep was traveling north on Frankford Avenue with a steady green light. The report states that while in the intersection, the Jeep collided with a man on an e-scooter who had disregarded a steady red light from the opposite direction.

The rider of the e-scooter was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased at 11:53 p.m. Friday. No charges are expected to be filed in the crash.
